Thursday Evening Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is characterized by the relaxed practice of floor shapes using the support of props when needed for three to five minutes at a time.

These still, long-held floor-based poses invite in a deep stretch and new sense of spaciousness and relaxation in the body.

In Yin Yoga, we gently coax the mind to be present and aware through this stillness and sensation in the body, building mental resiliency from the inside out.

Yin Yoga for Grounding

Yin Yoga for Grounding

Reconnect with your body and ground your energy in this deeply nourishing Yin Yoga class. Designed to calm the mind, balance the emotions, and bring you back to a place of stillness, this session combines the meditative practice of Yin Yoga with the healing power of acupressure and vagus nerve toning.

Throughout the class, you'll hold gentle, floor-based postures for longer durations, encouraging deep release in the connective tissues while stimulating key acupressure points. As you practice the sequence, we'll focus on grounding energy, using specific acupressure points to enhance the benefits of each pose and breath work to nourish your nervous system.

Key Acupressure Points:

  • Kidney 1 (Yongquan) – Located on the sole of the foot, this point is known for its grounding and calming effects, helping to center the body and alleviate anxiety.
  • YinTang’s location is at the midpoint of the glabella, directly between the inner edges of the eyebrows, celebrated for its ability to pacify internal wind — the tumultuous energy that disrupts the calm of the mind.

As we practice the Yin postures, you’ll be invited to apply gentle pressure to these acupressure points, further enhancing the grounding effect and supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

This class is perfect for anyone feeling overwhelmed, scattered, or in need of restoration.

Leave with a renewed sense of stability, calm, and connection to the earth beneath you.

Props Needed: 3 firm blankets or 1 bolster and 1 blanket and blocks for extra support in the poses

Centred in Harmony: A Yin Yoga Workshop for the Earth Element

Centred in Harmony: A Yin Yoga Workshop for the Earth Element

The Earth element in Chinese Medicine is linked to late summer and the 18 days between seasons, nourishment, grounding, and stability. When in harmony, it brings us a sense of trust, ease, and being at home within ourselves.

When out of harmony, we may feel worry, overthinking, or heaviness.

In this workshop, we’ll explore Yin Yoga postures that support the stomach and spleen meridians, inviting a deeper connection to steadiness and inner harmony.

Through long-held shapes, mindful stillness, and breath awareness, you’ll have the opportunity to restore your energy, soothe the nervous system, and reconnect to your center.

This practice is an invitation to ground, nurture, and replenish — leaving you feeling supported from the inside out.
